NDC Leadership Loss: Ade Coker Passes Away at 69

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is mourning the death of former Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Joseph Ade Coker, who passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Sources indicate he died at Bank Hospital in Accra after a brief illness. His passing has drawn widespread reactions from party members and the public.

Edudzi Tameklo, CEO of the National Petroleum Authority and NDC’s Director of Legal Affairs, confirmed the news. He shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, praising Coker’s loyalty and dedication to the party.

Many knew him as Chairman Coker, a strong voice in politics and a leader admired by the NDC grassroots. He was outspoken on national matters and stood firm on party principles.

Coker first assumed the role of regional chairman in 2009 and led for three consecutive terms. In 2022, he lost re-election to Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, a former Adentan MP.

Following the news, NDC supporters and Ghanaians across the country flooded social media with tributes. Many expressed sorrow over the NDC leadership loss and honored Coker’s long-standing service to the party.
